ABOUT
My art is inspired by my childhood memories of India & travels. I’ve been painting for three decades and primarily work with oil, acrylic & mixed media. Images of nature, of people become subjects of my paintings and I gravitate toward them in the first place because of a connect to the verve and vibrancy of India. Sometimes contemporary representations of various issues I feel strongly about occupy my head space & eventually, a canvas. Whether it’s a painting I’m working on or preparing to teach, I hope to always treat my art like an amateur -- to approach it with openness, wonder & curiosity of a beginner.
